PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Some valve operating conditions involve highly abrasive fluids. In such working environments, coatings like Chromium Carbide or Tungsten Carbide applied to the inner surfaces of the valves may prove insufficient. For these conditions, valves with a fully ceramic-coated interior surface may be more suitable. Although these products are more expensive compared to other valves, the suitability of ceramic materials can be determined after gathering data such as fluid flow rate and pressure class and performing calculations to identify turbulence within the fluid.
The ceramic alloy used in Ceramic Ball Valves can vary depending on the fluid and pressure values. Although the manufacturing of these valves is significantly more challenging than other types, we can undertake such projects based on the required number of valves.
Ceramic Ball Valves are particularly preferred in metallurgical plants, mining, petrochemical, and chemical industries.
HG-Stahl, serving as the Turkish distributor of the German-based Pre-vent GmbH, advances by utilizing the ASME B16.34 standards for Ceramic Ball Valves. With the BR835Z model, widely used in various regions worldwide, Pre-vent ceramic valves feature body materials such as Al2O3 ceramic coatings, with ZrO2 also being an option. Ceramic Ball Valves are manufactured in two- or three-piece designs.
Ceramic Ball Valves offer significant advantages not only for abrasive fluids but also in environments with intense chemical reactions. Due to their inherent properties, ceramic materials are more resistant to chemical interactions and corrosion issues commonly observed in metal valves. This characteristic makes ceramic ball valves particularly advantageous for processes requiring high purity, as ceramic material does not engage in chemical reactions and maintains the purity of the process. Additionally, the smooth surface of ceramic ball valves ensures that the fluid flows smoothly and uninterruptedly within the valve, reducing turbulence risk. This minimizes adverse factors affecting the hydraulic behavior of the fluid, thereby enhancing overall system efficiency.
If the lifespan of the valve in your current process is short, you can consult HG-Stahl for our Ceramic Ball Valves, which can be provided with all necessary equipment such as actuators, solenoids, and air filter regulators.
