HG-Stahl Globe Valves

HG-Stahl Globe valves are a type of valve used to regulate, stop, or start the flow of fluids (water, gas, oil, etc.). These valves are designed for flow control and shut-off operations and are widely preferred in applications requiring precise flow adjustment. Globe valves are effective mechanisms that alter the direction of fluid flow and provide flow control.

Operating Principle of HG-Stahl Globe Valves

HG-Stahl Globe valves operate with a disk or plug-like closure. The closure moves against the valve seat to regulate the flow. During the shut-off process, the closure rests on the seat and stops the flow. During the opening process, the closure moves upward, allowing the fluid to pass freely. The design of globe valves enables controlled and precise regulation of fluid flow.

Types of Globe Valves

  • Straight Type Globe Valve: Valves where the fluid moves in a linear path. Commonly used in low-pressure applications.
  • Angle Type Globe Valve: Valves where the fluid changes direction at a 90-degree angle. Suitable for use in confined spaces.
  • Oblique Type Globe Valve: Valves where the fluid moves along an inclined path. Designed to reduce flow resistance.
  • Y-Pattern Globe Valve: The Y-pattern design provides lower flow resistance and higher flow capacity.
  • Control Globe Valve: Used in applications requiring precise flow control. Automatic control can be achieved with actuators.
  • Three-Way Globe Valve: Allows fluid to be directed in two different directions. Used in mixing or distribution processes.

Applications of HG-Stahl Globe Valves

  • Water and Wastewater Systems: Used in applications requiring flow control and regulation.
  • Chemical Industry: Preferred for the safe and controlled transportation of chemicals.
  • Oil and Gas Industry: Widely used for pressure and flow control of fluids.
  • Power Plants: Used for the precise control of steam, water, and other fluids.
  • HVAC Systems: Provides flow control in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Globe Valve Selection Criteria

When selecting a globe valve, the main criteria to consider are:

  • Connection Type: Flanged, threaded, or welded connections can be chosen.
  • Material Type: Materials such as stainless steel, cast iron, and bronze should be selected based on the properties of the fluid.
  • Pressure and Temperature Values: The valve should be selected according to operating conditions.
  • Flow Rate and Capacity: Valves of suitable dimensions should be selected based on system requirements.
  • Ease of Maintenance: Valves that offer easy maintenance and repair should be preferred.
